Luffa Gourd

Once dried and shucked (remove outer shell), one is left with a natural sponge for bathing or washing dishes! Specialty craft soaps can be made from laterally cut pieces, providing an abrasive scrubbie and soap all at the same time.
Start indoors 6 weeks before last frost (require a relatively long growing season), or direct sow after last frost. Grow on a large trellis (a fence works best).
