In the last century alone, big companies have claimed exclusive right to more than 60% of the planets seed stock. At the expense of biodiversity & the right of choice for farmers & citizens globally, these companies have engineered not only a genetic monoculture, but a situation that is counter productive to traditional breeding techniques. We at Mississippi Foundation for Renewable Energy support wholeheartedly the right of the people to grow & breed natural flora in an ecologically responsible manner.
We are proud to offer the varieties we create without any stipulations on who can grow them or how they go about doing it. Feel free to use our seeds bearing the OSSI label in any manner you see fit without restricting use to others.
The OSSI Pledge – You have the freedom to use these OSSI seeds in any way you choose. In return, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
